Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find out more?

Call me. I am happy to discuss your situation over the phone. I leave it to my clients to decide if they wish to proceed with me. I do not "sell" my work and sometimes end up recommending other options if they seem more suitable. It is your willingness and ability to commit to your development and growth that is the critical factor.

Then what?

For private individual sessions, (coaching etc) we arrange an initial one-hour meeting. This provides the opportunity to answer any questions and to discuss your requirements and perhaps explore further. I ask that you take some time to decide if you wish to proceed.

How many sessions should I have?

I suggest between four and seven sessions as a minimum. Some people book a course of six or ten and once that is completed they come back as and when they feel it is useful.

How often should I have a session?

Sessions can be spaced to suit your preferred pace, be that weekly, monthly or otherwise. Everyone has his or her own optimum rate of change and integration

How long is a session?

One full session lasts approximately one and a half hours. I ask that people be punctual and if possible arrive a few minutes early to allow them to "catch up with themselves," gather their thoughts and feelings and focus on what they want to explore in the session.

Do you phone coach?

Sometimes, if I feel it is an appropriate way of working with you. However, I prefer working face to face, at least initially.

Costs / Payment?

I have a sliding scale for working with private clients depending on individual circumstances. I do not give free consultations beyond the initial phone conversation. Corporate work is charged on a daily rate. Payment for coaching and therapy is by cheque or cash. Please contact me for further details.

What if I need to cancel?

I ask for one week's notice but can accept a minimum of 24 hours.

Where do you work?

I work at various locations in Bristol including the Pierian Centre, The Relaxation Centre and the Chiron Centre.

What do I aim to achieve?

Whatever forms my work takes, I strive to identify and then develop existing resources and utilise them in relation to an outcome or goal. I seek to start a process of generative change by complementing what is already there-- existing talents, skills and qualities-- and then utilise these skills to develop self-sustaining improvements that add benefit to all areas of the situation. This kind of change is powerful; because of its inclusive and integrated nature, it often has positive effects on multiple areas of a person's life simultaneously. It draws on and integrates the positive aspects of the conscious and unconscious processes we all have.

What happens during a session?

A typical, basic coaching session may include some talking, some timeline work (where we physically move along a defined timeline and investigate different perceptual positions), some relaxation and / or some visualisation. However, as Thomas Edison said, "There are no rules here; we are trying to achieve something!" There are many ways to progress; we will find the best one for you.

I am a member of the Professional Guild of NLP. All of my work is done in accordance with a code of ethics, including strict rules around confidentiality.
